Artificial Intelligence is already changing many of the sectors that vocational education prepares learners to enter. The SUSTaiN Training Programme helps VET educators and learners understand these changes and explore how AI can support more sustainable ways of working.
The programme includes five modules:
Module 1: Foundations of AI in VET
Introduces the basics of AI, its role in vocational education, practical ways to begin using AI, and key considerations such as privacy, bias, ethics and responsible use.
Module 2: AI in Agriculture
Explores how AI can support crop management, livestock monitoring, resource optimisation and better decision making while reducing waste and environmental impact.
Module 3: AI in Transport
Looks at AI in areas such as traffic management, logistics, predictive maintenance, safety and route optimisation, helping learners understand how transport is becoming more efficient and data driven.
Module 4: AI in Energy Management
Examines how AI can support smart grids, renewable energy forecasting, demand planning, energy efficiency and more resilient energy systems.
Module 5: AI in Water Management
Explores how AI can support monitoring, forecasting, leak detection, maintenance and better decision making across modern water systems.
Throughout the programme, learners are encouraged to explore real examples, consider practical applications and think critically about where AI can add value and where human judgement remains essential.
By combining AI literacy, sustainability and vocational practice, the SUSTaiN Training Programme helps educators and learners build the skills needed for workplaces shaped by both the green and digital transitions.
