Smarter tools for a changing agricultural sector

Agriculture is facing growing pressure from climate change, rising costs, labour shortages and increasing sustainability requirements. At the same time, farms are generating more data than ever through sensors, machinery, weather information, soil monitoring and animal health systems.

This module explores how Artificial Intelligence can turn that data into useful insights and support better decisions across modern agriculture.

Why take this module?

AI is not about replacing farmers or practical agricultural knowledge. It is about combining experience with data to improve precision, reduce waste and respond earlier to problems.

Understanding these technologies can help current and future agricultural professionals make better use of resources while maintaining human expertise at the centre of decision-making.

What will you explore?

  • Why AI matters for VET and the changing world of work
  • Simple ways to begin using AI in teaching and learning
  • Ethical issues including privacy, bias, academic integrity and environmental impact
  • How AI can support personalised and inclusive learning
  • Practical AI tools that educators can begin using
  • Real examples of AI being used in vocational education
