In June 2025, our project partners gathered in Stavanger, Norway, for a highly productive in-person meeting. Representatives travelled from Ireland, Bulgaria, Finland, and Italy to join our Norwegian hosts at Fagskolen Rogaland. The meeting marked an important milestone in our collaboration, bringing us closer to delivering innovative outcomes in vocational education and training (VET).

Finalising WP2 and Moving Forward with WP3

The agenda began with the finalisation of Work Package 2, ensuring that all tasks and outputs were completed and aligned across the consortium. With this foundation in place, discussions turned to Work Package 3, which focuses on the design and development of the AI Training Programme for VET. Partners engaged in lively brainstorming sessions, sharing ideas, refining concepts, and agreeing on a clear roadmap for development.

Looking Ahead: WP4 and WP5

The meeting also included an overview of two upcoming areas of work:

  • WP4 – AI for Sustainability Hackathons, which will bring together learners and stakeholders to explore how AI can tackle real-world environmental challenges.
  • WP5 – Dissemination and Impact, highlighting our shared commitment to ensuring that the project’s results reach educators, learners, and the wider community across Europe.

These sessions gave everyone a clear picture of the next steps and the timelines needed to achieve our shared goals.

Exploring Innovation in Stavanger

After a full day of discussions, our hosts at Fagskolen Rogaland treated us to a tour of their impressive vocational college. The facilities demonstrated their strong focus on applied learning and digital innovation in education.

The programme also included a site visit to a local company leading the way in applying AI to maritime assessment. This was a valuable opportunity to see first-hand how artificial intelligence is shaping one of Norway’s most important industries.

Cultural Highlights and Team Bonding

No visit to Stavanger would be complete without exploring its stunning surroundings. Partners enjoyed a cultural tour, including the iconic Sverd i fjell (Swords in Rock) monument. The highlight of the trip was a hike to the breathtaking Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), guided by our colleague Kjell David, who made the experience both memorable and inspiring.

A Shared Vision for the Future

The Stavanger meeting strengthened collaboration across the consortium and ensured that all partners left fully aligned on goals, deadlines, and responsibilities. It was a week that combined intensive project work, inspiring site visits, and cultural exchange, setting the stage for the successful delivery of the next phases of our project.
